I did not watch the Owl this year, opting to go to a matinee at the theatre instead. I didn't care about the ads either, but I read an interesting article totalling up the amount you'd need to spend to buy every product advertised. The total was $597,992.85+, depending on how much you value things like delivery fees and your privacy.

I'm wondering how difficult it would to stay away from every product advertised during the Owl. I'd have to give up Amazon Prime and my Discover card for two things.
