Awww....thanks Kathy.  I have missed you guys as well.  I can't believe I have not been on in over a month.  I guess work has kept me busy lately.  And the past two weeks I was in four states for either work or vacation.  This meant that my allergies got supercharged with all sorts of pollen.  Over the weekend all I did was take nap after nap after nap.  Then on Monday I was too tired to go into work.   ::)   I went in late because I had to lead a conference call that could not be rescheduled.  Yesterday, I stayed home the entire day.  (I had another conference call but I pushed that one off until tomorrow.)  I'm feeling much better today.   :)   I am thankful for the three day weekend coming up.

Last night I saw a production of The Lehman Trilogy staged in the round, which, according to the talkback, is unique among productions of the play. It was excellent, but currently I have a difficult time sitting still for more than an hour. :( During the first intermission, I stretched, and during the second, I walked laps around the theatre. That is my last show until next fall. I still have a chance to see the touring production of Company, and there's even a convenient Thursday matinee this week, but I don't think either my budget nor my stamina can handle it.

Trailers are trailers, and this one does its job — including its generous length, which, at risk of spoiling many eye-popping visuals and quite a bit of plot, serves up a gluttonous helping of what the show's fans have presumably been thirsting for.  In any case, despite my own rather mild appreciation for the source material, this does look grand:

Plus a little behind-the-scenes love-fest with Chu, Erivo and Grande:

Yay!  :-*  Hope you're enjoying it.

From last to first:

Here come the Jets like a bat outta hell:
Someone gets in our way, someone don't feel so well.
Here come the Jets — little world, step aside!
Better go underground, better run, better hide.

Guess what showed up at my door today? Guess what I spent the last 75 minutes listening to!  ;D ;D ;D

Once the revolution is up and humming,
That'll be the end of the world,
Your world.
The world of private jets and screening rooms,
And hundred-thousand-bucks-an-ounce designer perfumes,

I keep thinking,
Such a fine beginning,
Such a lovely evening we could spend.

Such a fine beginning,
I keep thinking
More about the end.

There are several possible choices using this target phrase — but, if I'm honest, I'm kinda fishing for the most recent instance, just to introduce SJS's youngest offspring into this game.

PlaybillInside Orchestrator Jonathan Tunick's Project to Make Sondheim's Scores Sound Bigger
A re-orchestrated version of A Little Night Music will premiere at Lincoln Center.  Tunick says Sweeney Todd is next.

I do hope they record this.  I'd love to see it, and there are plenty of tickets still available at the moment, but they start at $148 for the nosebleeds and go up to $338 for almost anything on the orchestra or first-mezzanine levels.  I'll keep an eye on the prices, though, just in case they prove dynamic enough to swerve toward more-affordability.
