Title: 8 December 2019 Shakespeare Sunday
Post by: KathyB on Dec 08, 2019, 04:56 PM
I just came back from seeing Twelfth Night, which was very good, although confusing (any play that has mistaken identity as part of its plot has its share of confusion). The big question everybody left with was: How do the sign language interpreters sign Shakespeare? Do they translate the text into more modern language, or is there a way to indicate while signing that it's Shakespearean language? Unfortunately, the ASL interpreters weren't present at the talkback after the show, so it's still a mystery to both the hearing audience and the actors.
