Title: 9th of July and its hot as hell
Post by: mrssondheim on Jul 09, 2017, 07:07 AM
Morning all. It is so hot and humid here. Was hard to fall asleep and now it has awoken me. I don't like it!
No real news here. Got cast in a show this last week so that is cool!  Stellar f*ckimg cast so I'm excited to get started. We start this week and Todd is in tech for Anything Goes, so it's gonna be a little crazy.
I am still trying to get into the groove of the board again. Haven't gotten there yet.
Off to see if there is a cooking thread. That was always an inspiration to me.
Love you all!

Today is a beautiful day here.  To bad I'm too tired to get out and enjoy it.  I think I will be in bed early tonight which is a shame because I don't have to be into work until 5 a.m. My start time has been 4:30 so the extra half hour is wonderful.

I'm very excited about tomorrow night.  I'll be seeing author Neil Gaiman (http://www.neilgaiman.com/). He's doing a tour.  I haven't watched "American Gods" yet so I hope he doesn't spend a lot of time talking about the series.  I have read the book but it's been a while.

If there isn't one yet you should start it!

Related cooking talk:  I'm thinking of buying an Instant Pot.  They seem like a small appliance I'll keep using a month after I buy it.  Anyone else have one?  Instant Pot is an electric pressure cooker.

@mamarose
Me, too, Aileen. I'll continue to post slightly pointless post until I slip into it again.
Congrats on the show. Can you tell us what it is yet?

Today marks the end (hopefully) of a rather insane period for me ... as well as working through the week, I've had to work most weekends - supervising orchestral rehearsals with young musicians which were an average of three hours drive away. Wouldn't have minded as much if I'd got some extra pay, but no such luck. Also, had show week for a village opera (think Mapp and Lucia meets The Archers) that I've been directing which was a great success, but came with all of the trials and tribulations of community productions. After a small glass of rosé, I've taken to my bed just before 11pm. Heigh ho, the glamorous life.

After an unusually cool spring and early summer, it's finally getting hot here and it looks like it will be in the low-to-mid 80s all week. Fortunately we've got really good A/C and probably won't have to use it for more than four months. (It starts cooling off here in October, later than in most places, but it also gets hot later than in most places.)

Since I spend most of my day at the computer I've set up a fan aiming at my chair, so that I can get by mostly on open windows until Amy gets home in mid-afternoon.
