Today I celebrated Earth Day by seeing my accountant and getting my taxes done. I am actually getting money back this year (surprise #1). Of my federal refund, I am allocating $5000 to my estimated taxes, and I should not have to pay any more estimated taxes this year (surprise #2). Apparently one of my mutual funds had a stock that tanked last year, resulting in an enormous capital loss (surprise #3, which wouldn't have been a surprise if I had been paying attention to the account statements every month, but honestly, who does that? It's not on my list of top 10 ways to spend my time.). Then I went to Raising Cane's and got a chicken finger lunch that came in a nice nonrecyclable styrofoam container.
Earth Day also means that it's my client's dog's birthday! Happy birthday, Bella!
