There is a burger place called Simply Burgers next to the hotel in which I'm staying. That is the inspiration for today's thread. :)
However, for lunch, I'm going to try something called Crispy Pickled Chicken. I don't know exactly what that is but I'm intrigued enough to try it. I'll let you know my thoughts about it.
Either something happened between when they set the menu or they made a mistake on the menu but there was no crispy pickle chicken. Instead they had country fried chicken. It was good but it could never live up to the possibility of crispy pickle chicken. :)) :D :))
This is the country fried chicken. PXL_20220305_184447575.jpg
I was this close to looking up "Crispy pickle chicken" on Google yesterday, but I thought I'd wait and get the full report.
The green beans look good. The chicken looks like a mass of gravy, which is exactly what it should look like, so I'm sure it was delicious.
I did a quick web search on your behalf just now, Kathy (though, by now, you may well both have done so on your own anyway).
Not because I was super-curious or anything. ;D
Google suggests it probably means the chicken is brined in pickle juice before being fried. Who knew that was a thing? But apparently that's the way Chick-fil-A's been doing it (https://www.thekitchn.com/the-secret-to-chick-fil-as-super-juicy-chicken-is-in-your-pantry-227382) for years.
