Title: 17-JUL-18 Flash Flood
Post by: DiveMilw on Jul 17, 2018, 12:16 PM
It's raining and I guess it's going to rain for some time.  I received a flash flood warning on my phone.  Usually the rain falls for 10-20 minutes and then stops and it's been not much more than a heavy sprinkle.  But this afternoon it was pouring for a few minutes and now we have a very healthy rainfall.  The flash flood warning puts my parents trip to Kohl's for tennis shoes on hold.  We need the rain and I'm glad we are getting some actual rainfall instead of the bursts which have become the norm.  I actually miss the days when we'd have a nice summer rain for a few hours at a time.

We are also supposed to be getting some monsoonal moisture today, but it hasn't come yet. I am procrastinating from working on a newsletter that I actually did work on for a few hours this morning. I get paid a flat amount for this newsletter, so it's better for me if I get everything done as efficiently and quickly as possible. I also worked on a couple of little projects today, so I've actually gotten something done, but I have about half the newsletter to finish, and I'm just sick of looking at it.

I am listening to the Cowboy Junkies' new album, All That Reckoning.

It rained steadily until the evening.  I remember what time it stopped but I want to say it was after 7 PM.  The lawn will be very happy.   :)
