I'm sure it's some kind of special day today, but I'm still celebrating National Cheesecake Day, because I got a dozen slices for $17. It makes a very good breakfast.
OK, here are some observances that I can celebrate with cheesecake:

J.K. Rowling's birthday (and thus Harry Potter's birthday)
The anniversary of Christchurch, New Zealand, becoming a city
