The orthopedist looked at my CT scan, and told me that the fracture was about 3 mm, as opposed to 2 mm, where everything usually heals nicely and cleanly. :( There is a chance this will not heal cleanly, in which case he recommends having fusion surgery. :( :( The good news is that there's no rush, so I'm going to wait a month, have more x-rays taken to see how much the foot is healing, and then see what happens. I got to see the break on the CT scan, and it looks mighty impressive. In the meantime, I need to keep weight off the foot (except on the heel portion) and wear my lovely boot.
I hate when I feel I'm trying hard, and it's still not good enough. :(
