SECRET SONDHEIM 2017

Here's how it works:1. If you'd like to participate, say so and post a wishlist of 5 CDs/DVDs/Other Stuff in this thread. Kindly ensure that each item is in print and under US$20.00. . Or, if it's out of print, is readily available used or through a reseller. Remember to give enough information about the items you are requesting (which version of Follies, etc.) Used copies (in good condition, of course!) are fair game unless otherwise indicated.

2. PM me with your name and contact information. Alternatively, you can create an Amazon Wishlist to keep your mailing information private, and PM me the details of the Wishlist on The New FTC. You can also send me the info via Facebook but I'd prefer to gather the info back "home". But if it means you won't participate or might forget then send me the info on FB. I'd rather get the info here than not have you participate!

3. You will be contacted in due course with the name and mailing details of your gift buddy. (The person you are sending a gift to will not necessarily be sending you your gift, but everyone should be both sending and receiving a gift.)

4. Purchase your buddy's gift and send it off allowing time for shipping (extra if you are posting your gift internationally.) You may reveal your identity in the package, but please do not do so beforehand as it ruins the surprise. Feel free to include a bit of Christmas Cheer in your package as well!

5. If you have specific instructions please let me know as well, since many of the members here do not live in the US, or may have delivery instructions that are unique.

6. Feel free to include something unique to your area, postcards, food, crafts, etc.

Please let me know if I've forgotten anything, or if you think something would work better differently this year.

Deadline for Posting your List and Interest is Wed, November 22nd, 2017. I will get the List and Gift Buddies sent out on Thursday or Friday.

Thanks!  I noticed a couple things last night but it was too late for me to want to fix them.  You saved me a few minutes of time today!!

No (well, it probably is, but is YEARS out of date), I think it's because you're on .com - if you go via amazon.co.uk you'll get my up-to-date one :)

At the top of your list, at the right, there should be a link to SHARE.  This opens a dialog.  It is designed to send a link via email, but the URL is displayed at the top of the dialog.  You can just copy that link and paste it here.  Make sure the list is set to Public.

Everyone should have received their information.  Almost everyone was sent a message via the forum.  If you don't have a message here then check Facebook.  If you are participating and didn't receive a message please let me know.  

If the person supplied an Amazon link I didn't send the shipping address.  I'm assuming that Amazon knows where to ship the items.  BUT if you need an address please contact me and I will get one for you.  (I recently shipped something off a gift list and had to choose the address.  I wasn't sure if the address was in my Amazon address book because I'd shipped there before or because it pulled the address from the list.  I think it's the later but in case I'm wrong I can get the address for you.)

So excited to participate this year! Now to try and be creative. I don't know if I will ever top that year I had Bobster. LOVE YOU ALL!!  One of these days I will have money enough to get back to NYC. Working as an independent contractor in the arts, it will be more pizza slices preshow, as opposed to that Chateaubriand for two that Tom and I shared. But it is the company that is important. Ah nostalgia.

I am guessing it is too late to add something to my list, but just in case my person is a procrastinator like me...

I think I received mine today. It's a box I wasn't expecting. I'm going to see how long I can hold out before opening it, but I am not going to give myself an ultimatum to wait until December 25, because this is the only present I am receiving from anyone this year.

I've been meaning to post that my gift arrived a few days ago.  I haven't opened it yet because I want to save it for the 25th after I get home from work.  

I think mine is here. It is under the tree until the 25th!

I got a package and stuck it under the tree. No clue who it's from but you know who you are.

Thank you very much to my generous Secret Sondheim, who sent me both Waitress and The Great Comet. I may try to get a last-minute ticket to the touring production of Waitress, which lis playing through Sunday.

My Secret Sondheim also gave me a nice little puzzle to work on, knowing that my brain needs more of these experiences as it ages. :)

Belated thanks to Aileen!!  She got me "Come From Away" and "The Last Ship".  I think that is an excellent pairing and, like Martin, must figure out when I'll listen to them.  The commute to work is always an option but then I won't be able to give full concentration to what I'm hearing.  This is a nice quandary to have!

My secret Sondheim sent me a Milwaukee spice set from Penzeys! Taste of home to go with my new Dear Evan Hansen sheet music and Phantom on Blu-ray. So incredibly generous! Thank you thank you!

Lovely JenniferLillian sent me the CD for A Little Night Music and a sexy face mask so I don't inhale the smoke around here. Our skies are back to mostly blue, but there is still a little brown going on. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness!  I love our Secret Sondheim adventure. Thank you Tom for organizing!!!

I received "Come From Away" and "The Very Best of Max Boyce"! Max is a Welsh comedian and folk singer according to Wikipedia.  My Secret Santa didn't sign his gifts, but from his note I assume he is Welsh.  I thought I knew whom it was, until I realized we have two from Wales in the exchange. BUT I think Martin is an Englishman (or half English) living in Wales, so I'm going with Leighton (who is a Welshman living in England!) I can't wait to listen to Max! Thank you either :-*

Da iawn!  Hope you enjoyed both :) I think Max gives a genuinely accurate (and funny!) sense of Welshes.  Do let me know how CFA is, as well - I am quite intrigued!

The package that I thought was for me turned out to be for Chris since we were using the same list. I still haven't received mine. I'm sure it's on its way.

I've thanked Graeme privately for my present, but I want to thank him publicly here. It not only got here a week before Christmas, making it the first present under the tree, but Graeme tells me there's another present on its way. I hope that, if we make it back to the UK anytime soon, we'll get to see Graeme in Bath. We almost saw him this time, but passed through so quickly in a tour bus that we never thought to call him. Next time, Graeme!

I received a wonderful and abundant gift package from @scenicdesign71 (aka Scenic Dave) accompanied by a card that depicts one of his stunning set renderings. The back of the card shows the drop being painted.

The gift included some yummy treats, which I will share with Chris, two CDs and a DVD from my list, and a novel entitled The Yacoubian Building. I look forward to enjoying all of this stuff.
