Title: The Gardening Thread

This is the start of my gardening for the year.  I know it is late but compared to when I started last year (late July I think) this is early.
Most of these were marked down to $1.00 each because one of the plants in the container had died or they look a little ragged.  I'm assuming that once they are in a more permanent home they will flourish.  If some don't make the transition I can't be sad since I spent nearly nothing on them.

I made up three hanging baskets tonight and will put most of the rest in various planters in the morning.  I got some Irish Moss which I may plant in a bare spot in the front yard which formally was home to some decorative grass.  My mom is thinking of having the Japanese Maple in the background of the photo dug up and put where the grass was.  But it might be a long time before that happens.  In the meantime I'm going to start filling in the space with the moss and some annuals.

Nothing has been planted in the actual ground yet.  The tally so far is three hanging baskets, four smaller pots, three big pots, and one really big pot.  I've got at least one more big pot and a hanging basket yet to plant.  I think I'm going to get some more plants for those to get more color and species variety.  I still may put some plants in the ground before summer ends!  Photos to come in the next weeks as the plants get a chance to grow and fill in the containers.

I am late on my gardening as well. I may go to the nursery later today to see what they have.
My lateness won't really matter since it has been so overcast up to now.
My yard looks like Grey Gardens right now, so I am looking to fix that soon!

Garden is doing well. Haven't decided yet as to whether I should put pics on here since they are up on FB. Don't wanna inundate you all.  ;D
