Title: July 5, 2017 - The Echo of Fireworks
Post by: Chris L on Jul 05, 2017, 01:27 PM
It's the day after Independence Day, our country is another year older (and deeper in debt), and we don't have a Daily yet, so I thought I'd start one.

I flaked out early last night, going to bed right after eight, so I didn't see any fireworks. I'm pretty sure I heard them because something kept waking me up, but I was so out of it that I couldn't tell whether it was fireworks or one of the cats jumping on the bed.

The fireworks are over (I hope), except at Disneyland. Life goes on...

I turned the attic fan on to drown out any fireworks last night. And also to bring the cooler air into the house. My house was hot yesterday, even with the AC on.

I really have nothing to say. I just want to get my post count up. :)

Attic fans are such cool things.  (no pun intended).  I wish this house had one.

Ha ha! Me, too @KathyB - I want to know when I move from Junior to Senior and if there are any more stages between Senior Member and God. It's the little things ...

I hit Full Member when I posted my 100th message. Now I'm up to 185 (186 with this message), but no more level raises. I'm looking forward to hitting 200 to see what happens...

Forum God sounds fine to me, although Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum God would be preferable ...

That may just be a little too long, Mairi, but maybe I'll erase my message (you can erase yours too) so that I don't give away the surprise to others. ;)

@Vera Charles - I tinkered with the numbers a bit so that you'll still be surprised when you hit a new level.

I've deleted my response, but now have to write this one just to keep my post numbers up. 🙄

Keep up the banal posts. They also raise the forum's message count. ;)

I'll chime in just to increase my post count. The cats wouldn't have been jumping on the bed because they were traumatized by all the local amateur fireworks going off. They were off hiding somewhere.

The professional fireworks are far enough away that I don't think it would upset them. Plus, they last about 15 to 30 minutes. The amateurs go on all night and they start a week or so before the actual holiday.

Amazingly, the fireworks yesterday were mostly bearable.  There were a few MASSIVE explosions throughout the weekend, but things quieted down by about 10pm.

PS - Me, too!  And now that Chris says it also "helps" the forum I don't have to feel guilty about it!  ;D
