Anyone in the UK watching Jimmy McGovern's latest television drama, Broken? Stunning cast, led by Sean Bean at his very best. I've still got a few episodes to watch, but it is by far the best new series I've seen on television in quite a while. Some background here. We haven't seen any yet (rehearsals etc.), but we're planning to binge-watch the series before it disappears. I can see from trailers that it involves a handful of familiar McGovern tropes but reviews are good. He came to talk to my play writing module at college a couple of times and it's always fascinating to see him following and breaking his own rules ;D
