Another mediocre show, another standing ovation. Or maybe I'm just an asshole.
A blank page or canvas. My favorite.

I have to confess if I find myself surrounded by standers after an undeserving performance but don't want to appear curmudgeonly, I'll often effect a feeble compromise by resting on the flipped-up seat edge - "I'm not standing - just perching to be able to see!"  :D

I love it!

My father drilled theater ediquette to us, and respect for theater. That it can be great art and needs to be respected as such. A standing ovation is the greatest honor only given to the best. I feel like he is pushing me down and keeping me in my seat in these times of standing for mediocrity.

I have been in shows that I knew were NOT good. When people stood I just looked at them dumbfounded and wanted to tell them to sit back down. "You fools! This show was crap! Sit down! We do not deserve this!"
