Scenic dubbed today Virtuous Wednesday and so Virtuous Wednesday it shall be.  I was going to call it Last Wednesday since it's the last day of August.  I don't know where the month went but I'll be very glad of the (hopefully) cooler weather of Fall.
I no longer long for the old view!

I also am looking forward to autumn weather.

Of course the virtue couldn't last: this morning I overslept and was half an hour late to work -- yikes.

Fortunately, it was a fairly relaxed day anyway.  My one project all day -- and due at end of day -- was to make two bar-height chairs, identical in style but not in color, become the same color: pale almond, with a very subtle wood grain and a hint of fake-antiquing.  One of the chairs was already this color, so I just had to paint the other one to match it as closely as possible.  But the other one had a dark ebony stain, so it took several coats just to cover and ended up being a comfortable day's work.

Around lunchtime, I was a little nervous that I might find myself, at the end of the day, rushing to finish and cursing the half-hour I'd missed in the morning.  But this luckily did not happen.  The project filled the available time just about perfectly, and ended up looking good.  My only remaining fear is that I may have rushed the initial step of sanding down the existing finish so that my shellac-based primer would bond to the surface better.  Hopefully the crew can manage not to chip or scratch the surface until it's had enough time, a day or two, to fully cure.

Aargh, now I am out of sync again: this should all be on Thursday's thread, but I'm too lazy to move it.   :P
