13 February 2022 Frustrating Sunday

I almost called this thread "Pissed Off Sunday," because, well, I am. I went to the theatre today, and it was an hour late in starting. Curtain time was supposed to be 2 pm, but they didn't let us into the theatre until after 2:30. I was almost at the point of turning around and going home, but they did finally let us in. When curtain time actually came, someone from the theatre management announced that there was a "non-COVID emergency" with the cast, and that we would be seeing the understudy, and he thanked us for our patience, of which I really didn't have much. He also made a sexist remark about the Super Bowl that I'm not sure he realized was sexist.

The play was okay. It could stand some shortening. Of course the production got a standing ovation, even though I never got the sense that the audience was really that much into the play. (No uproarious laughter at any point, for example.)

Of course I was an hour late getting home, so we had to go for a walk in the dark, and someone didn't want to poop.
