I just bought a kitchen trashcan at Costco that is more stable and has a lid that stays down so that somebody (not saying who) can't get into the trash as easily, and even if she does get into it, the lid should stay closed so the trash is not accessible. Because putting the trash can on the kitchen counter was not going to work as a long-term solution. This was the most expensive trash can I have ever bought, but at least it was $20 off, and it's got a ten-year guarantee. My guess is that if something goes wrong with it over the next ten years, I will have forgotten about buying it. I should probably read more about that guarantee, because if I have to ship the thing in to the manufacturer, that's almost definitely not going to happen. It was hard enough to get this thing home in my small sedan.

After class a bunch of us went out for Cinco de Mayo.  It was nice spending time talking shop and other stuff.  We've gotten to the point where we don't have to stress over every little thing and can relax a little bit.  Too bad the assignment will be over in three weeks.  :(  I have really been enjoying this.
I no longer long for the old view!
