2-JUL-22 More Snails!

Two weeks ago I went to the Vietnamese Night Market where I tried snails.  (My co-worker, Jen, was there cooking the snails. That was a surprise as I didn't know she'd be there.)  Anyway, I went again tonight.  I got an order of snails to bring home to my mother.  There were too many for her to eat so I got to finish them.  I don't know if I really like snails but the sauce Jen cooked them makes the dish.  It's got a LOT of garlic, fish sauce, butter, and probably other stuff I can't identify.  Jen gave me a sea scallop grilled in its shell to try.  I was going to order some but I forgot to stop somewhere to get some more cash.  I will save them for next time.  The scallop was served with a nest of bean thread/cellophane noodles surrounding it.  I bought more food than I needed so I'd have some for tomorrow.  I hope I get a a couple of more chances to stop by before they go on hiatus in the Fall.  (they operate the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month)
