We never did get any rain yesterday. Today is just supposed to be hot, and tomorrow hotter.

I am waiting until I can go home and work on the freelance projects I was procrastinating on yesterday. :) I have an ad and a floor plan, plus the remainder of the newsletter that my goal is to finish tomorrow.

Today is Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday (or I guess, more accurately, the 100th anniversary of his birth). It feels very much like Hump Day.

Today is a day for me to celebrate the miracle of antibiotics.  I went home 45 mins early on Monday so I could stop in at the dentist.  I had been having some tooth pain over the weekend and it was getting worse.  My dentist doesn't work on Mondays (something I never knew or forgot if I had known) but I was able to get an appointment for 8 AM yesterday.  After I got home the pain got much worse and I was taking a supplemental ibuprofen pill every hour.  And over the course of the day I took two Vicodin.  That barely kept the pain at bay by the time bedtime rolled around.  By some alignment of the planets I had no pain when I woke up.  (This continued most of the day although I did take an ibuprofen a couple times as the day wore on.)  I went to the dentist and gave me a script for antibiotics and a referral to the place where I had the root canal done on the tooth that was hurting.  They were able to fit me in at noon.  By 12:15 they confirmed that the tooth had cracked somewhere above the gum line and that was the cause/doorway for the infection.  At some point in the near future the tooth will come out. But that isn't the great thing.  The great thing is that this morning the swelling was down at least 50%.  The antibiotics are working at 110%!!  I'll be back to work tomorrow morning and should be able to fly on Friday.  (The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is having their Midsummer Festival of the Arts this weekend and my friend Dori has baby possums living under her porch!)  I LOVE antibiotics when they are used properly.   :-* :-*
I no longer long for the old view!
