20 August 2018 The return of the Mondays

Actually, it hasn't been too Mondayish so far, except for the traffic, but I'm giving it until this afternoon, when I'm sure the worst of the Monday goings-on will be happening. 

Maybe the worst thing about Mondays is that the bagel shop isn't open.

The worst things for my Monday happened around 5:30 AM (the baggage belt conveyor system stopped working) and then around 7:15 AM (our self-service kiosks suddenly stopping processing the baggage information correctly).  We were able to switch to the bag belt next door to our ticket counter and I got extra help in getting the correct IT department to fix the kiosks - a problem which has been plaguing us since last week but never so severely as this morning.  So it ended up being an OK day.  On the bright side, I only had to deal with one emergency at a time and, because I was at the ticket counter, I didn't have to deal with the flight which came back to the gate with a maintenance issue. (That eventually turned out OK as well because they were able to fix it after thinking the flight would cancel.)  

Why isn't the bagel shop open on Mondays?  That seems like an odd day to be closed.
