Yippee!

"And now, who's for a tooth-pulling?"
We're all waiting with bated breath to find out how Tom's dental appointment went. Well, at least I am. I am terrified of needing to have a tooth pulled or a root canal. I do brush and floss daily, but I know too many people who have had one procedure or the other done.

I was a little nervous about having the tooth removed because I was anticipating the use of instruments resembling a mini-jackhammer or mini-reciprocating saw.  Instead I got a LOT of Novocain (or whatever this oral surgeon uses) and then he used something (pliers like I assume) to gently tug at my tooth until it came out in one piece.  He then got rid of as much of the infection as he could, put in a dissolvable stitch to keep everything neat and tidy and sent me on my way.  I didn't even get a script for large dosage ibuprofen.  He just said to use whatever I normally use.  Being a "pro" I knew to take some ibuprofen as soon as I got home so that when the Novocain wore off I wouldn't be in too much pain.  I had 30-60 minutes when that part of my mouth did hurt quite a bit but that was mostly at the injection sites for the Novocain.  I'm not feeling much more than a tingle now but I will be taking another round of ibuprofen soon to make sure I don't encounter any issues in a couple of hours.

One thing I didn't like was that I was told I didn't have to have a soft-food diet for today and maybe into tomorrow.  I objected as I was not about to be deprived of cheesecake, pudding, jello, etc.  >:D O:-) :))

And I can definitively say that I lost weight today!
I no longer long for the old view!
