My request for a new front door got disapproved by our architectural control committee. It's because the new door isn't exactly the same in every detail as the old door. I am not going to be able to get a door that's exactly the same, because I've got diagonal window dividers/window grids in my door, which no one makes any more. (I can only find straight up and down and across ones that divide the window into little rectangles rather than little diamonds like my current window dividers do. It's why I couldn't replace the grid several years ago when it fell off the door.

My current door is in bad shape from 35 years of western exposure. Guess I have to live with it indefinitely.

That is just ridiculous and I am furious on your behalf.  Did they at least have suggestions of where you could find a replacement door?

No, which is what makes it frustrating. They didn't offer any suggestions when I tried to get the grid replaced either.
