I just got back from seeing Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the Denver Center Theatre Company. I did not have a rollicking good time (probably needless to say). My mind is sort of blown by the kinds of mind games these characters play with each other. And the amount of alcohol written into the script. Someone last week asked me what the play was about, and I wasn't able to describe it except to say there was a lot of arguing. And so much more...

Beautiful set. The sheer number of books on the set reminded me of when I worked on Educating Rita in college and needed to find a ton of academic-looking books to put in piles on the floor. We ended up raiding the Aurora Public Library's donation room, because a lot of books that people donate to libraries turn out to be scholarly-type books that the libraries don't necessarily want.
