It is supposed to rain/thunderstorm later today, which should cool things off a few degrees. And today it's only supposed to get to 93 or so. So it is cooling down. It just feels obscene to think that 93 degrees is cooler than it's been. I think today is going to be the coolest day for a while, because it's going to get back up close to 100 degrees again for the weekend.

Eeee gads!!!! We have that here too and no AC unfortunately. Just a lot of open windows and fans going. I want a house with AC so badly.
A blank page or canvas. My favorite.

I also love air conditioning.  I don't think I'd survive this heat without it.  Certainly I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.  We don't have rain forecast until late Sunday night into Monday.  That means temps in the mid=high 90s until Monday when the temperatures will plummet to 84.  I can't wait for Monday!

I've notice that AccuWeather often won't show rain more than a day in advance but Weather Kitty will.  For instance, Weather Kitty is predicting rain for Monday but AccuWeather is not.  When it comes to rain, Weather Kitty is usually correct and AccuWeather will add it to their forecast over the weekend.
I no longer long for the old view!

I hope you are able to go somewhere with a/c even if for only a couple of hours.  That is one nice thing about having to go to work because there is great a/c at the gates.  The ticket counter gets the afternoon sun and the doors open and let in the heat so it gets hot there.

Things could be worse for me this week: I've been working mostly in indoor locations that are air conditioned, though usually not as effectively as one would wish.  (It doesn't help that our shop/stage's huge exterior loading doors are often open for one reason or another).  Strangely enough, the temperature there seemed much more consistently well-regulated last week -- when the cast and (shoot) crew were there for four full days of filming.   :-\

Mostly I'm just glad that my mom recently had a new window air-conditioner installed in her apartment, which works spectacularly better than the old one that had been in her window for the past eight years.

And yes, I'm cranking the one in my own apartment down to "arctic" every evening when I get home from work.

Next week we will be working for at least two full days in a subway station.  I am not looking forward to that.  Even though the work itself should be relatively easy -- even kinda fun -- the heat will not.  And neither will the time pressure: because it's a working subway station, both days will be "prep/shoot/wrap", meaning we get everything camera-ready, shoot the scenes (train platform one day, subway steps the next), and restore everything to its original condition, all within the same day.  (It's much more common to have at least a day, usually two, and occasionally even three or more to prep and dress a location before the camera crew arrives, and a day or so afterward to restore).
