This year's Oscars looked like they were going to be another paean to aging, white, European males (like me  ), but as the night went on it became increasingly clear that Oscar voters were willing to give the award to someone who was neither white nor European. Bong-Joon Ho just kept walking up on stage with his translator by his side, looking increasingly surprised that he was getting all the awards that 1917 was expect to take. It was fun to watch.

We've really gotta see Parasite. It's on streaming for those who are willing to spend money for the rental. It would seem to be worth it.
