My seemingly annual check-in to DTs to mark the birthday of @scenicdesign71 and our 29th Anniversary.

Many happy returns Dave. 

We had a very nice meal in a place in the country where we'd anticipated very few fellow diners on a wet Monday lunchtime when many people are still cautious about going out, but it was moderately buzzing. The indomitable human spirit.

Thanks, guys!  Yesterday I went uptown to my mom's apartment and had a nice long visit with her for the first time since March.  There were birthday presents, a call from my brother and one from my dad, and we made tacos for dinner and stayed up watching movies until after midnight -- much like pre-pandemic days, but making a reasonably conscientious effort to stay six feet apart.
