I'm trying to get excited about having jury duty at 7:45 am on the day before my birthday. ::) The excitement hasn't happened yet.

This is a lamp that I was given in 1988 because the owner was moving out of state and he wanted it to have a good home. I haven't used it in 15 years or so because it takes light bulbs with a mogul base that are difficult to find, and that burn quite hot. The lamp also has a scary plug with exposed wires. This week I located a source for mogul-base LED bulbs. ;D  I wanted to find out more about the lamp, so I did a reverse image search on Google, and the same lamp came up on 1stDibs.com for $1900. :o (Which makes it the most expensive piece of furniture I own.) This is a lamp that I got for free and almost donated to Goodwill a couple of times because the mogul-base bulbs were so much of a pain. So if it's worth anything close to that much, I figured it was worth getting it fixed up so that I can actually use it without worrying about burning the house down. It is really heavy.

That's it for Wednesday.

Thst is a very cool looking lamp!  What a story to go with it.  I also have a lamp I wish to some day get rewired and find a replacement shade.  It is not nearly as fun as your lamp.   When I get home I will post a photo of it.  (I am in Charolette, NC fir work this week.)
I no longer long for the old view!

The first photo shows the original frame for the shade.

Cool lamp. What kind of shade were you thinking of for it?

DiveMilw

I am not sure what kind of shade.  I can't remember what it originally had.  Maybe a blue barrel shaped shade would look good.  Or a wide, cone shaped one.  I am open to suggestions.
