It is one day after "Rabbit Day" for August.  I can't believe how quickly July passed.  I'm (sort of) hoping August is as quick since July and August are usually the hottest months of the year.  We held off of getting above 100 until after mid July.  We have a break for a few days and then the temps head back into the low 100s.  This is still better than the first summer I was hear when it was over 110 F for six weeks, aside from the one day about four weeks in that it dipped below 110 but was still above 100.
I no longer long for the old view!

This morning it is a mild 75°, on the way to 86° for a high, which is fine with me. The high temps go back to the low/mid-90s for several days after than, which is much better than what I was thinking when I heard a radio announcer talk about "being really hot next week." The highest temperature ever recorded in Denver is 105°.

I need to go grocery shopping, and I'm procrastinating from that.  :-[

Our temps lately have been similar to Kathy's, and my weather widget claims we won't be reaching 90º anytime in at least the next ten days, despite a couple of 88s (tomorrow and Tuesday) and one 89 (a week from tomorrow).  Other than those three days, the highs for the next week and a half are all listed in the low 80s, and this coming Thursday the high — the high — is predicted to be 79).

Recent evenings have been almost chilly, in the very low 70s or even 60s.  That's expected to continue, though probably not as cool as last night's low of 61.

All of which seems a little weird for early August in New York, but I am not complaining.
