Happy Saturday! I went to a matinee performance of a play called American Mariachi, which was about a group of Mexican-American women in the 1970s who formed a mariachi band. It was another play that I'm not sure how much I liked. It was very well-done, but there were a couple of times I was looking at my watch, wondering how close it was to the end. The talkback with the actors after the show was fantastic, and made the play seem much better in retrospect. This play was commissioned by the Denver Center Theatre Company, and it's going to the Old Globe in San Diego after it finishes its run here.

Usually they have the talkbacks after Sunday matinees, but I think they didn't want to compete with a certain sporting event this weekend.
