Today I was productive for about two minutes when I used a rubber mallet to knock some of the accumulated ice and frost out of our upright freezer in the basement.  I didn't realize exactly how bad the problem is until I started.  I shall try to do this for a few minutes every day until we get to the point that we can easily defrost the freezer completely.  I'd like to try to do this on a Saturday or Sunday because my mother tells me there is a LOT of stuff in there which needs to be thrown away.  Garbage day is on Mondays and I'd rather not have the meat and various other things rotting in the rubbish bin for more than a day or two.

It was what felt to be an extremely muggy day today.  And now I'm hearing thunder over the "roar" of the air conditioner.  We are supposed to have thunderstorms on and off for the next few days.  I think it will be hot, hot, hot during the day which will produce thunderstorms in the afternoon & evening.

PS - I hear the pitter-patter of raindrops on the window air conditioning unit!
I no longer long for the old view!
