3 days before my mum's 98th birthday! I wonder if I have her genes? And one day till we go to our house in Turkey for 3 weeks.

Selling our place here has been a roller-coaster with one buyer dropping out the day before we were to exchange contracts! (But there has been some renewed interest so watch this space).

When we left Turkey a few weeks ago they had just done the heavy garden work and heavy planting and in our absence they have laid lawns, and tons of pebbles have been put in the appropriate spots so now we can manage some of the more leisurely, gentlemanly gardening.  We'll hopefully be buying some garden furniture too and a second shipment of "stuff" from here is en route and should be delivered in 10 days or so.

It's a really exciting ( and somewhat frustrating) time in our lives and we are so very much looking forward to settling permanently in out little patch of near-paradise.
