Today I am grateful for the fraud alerts on my debit and credit cards.  Apparently my debit card info has been compromised.  My card has been canceled so I don't have to worry about fraudulent charges (well, I should keep an eye on my account for the next few days).  Unfortunately, this happened AFTER my credit union closed for the day so I'll have to wait until Monday to request a new card.  That's a small inconvenience to pay compared to the trouble one used to have to go through to fight charges after the fact.
